The 483 students only have access to drinking water via two faucets. Additionally, the school garden is also taking water from those faucets. One is found in the inner courtyard, the other in the outer courtyard. There is no drain, but dirty puddles. Hepatitis E, a hygiene disease, is a common problem.
What we have achieved so far: We installed four pipes with water taps. Furthermore, one cleaning station with three sinks and water taps was built. To reduce the amount of drinking water usage, a 5000 L water tank has been installed. This tank is connected to pipes, which catch the rain. Therefore, the school has more water resources.
What we want to continue: “At least one more cleaning station is necessary; the water points each need a concrete base, and at least another 5000 L water tank for the benefit of rainwater must be installed. Hygiene workshops must be organized and bacteria kept away.”
