We and the school have been dreaming of a library for a long time. In 2024 it was time to make the dream come true: we are renovating one of the old classrooms, recycling old tables and shelves that had disappeared in the storeroom, and doing sanding, washing, painting, and cleaning. Purple and peach is our color concept, and with the help of the children, we can bring the first books into the small library after just two weeks.

We hire the wonderful Mister Festus as a librarian, who helps us set up the entire structure of the library, as well as the great Miss Rona, who, as an assistant, reads with the children, practices story-telling, and opens the library on Saturdays for the entire population of Kalkfeld. From Monday to Friday, there are lessons in the morning, and in the afternoon the children can go to their library to read, play and borrow books.
